Whats the difference between the Terp Trap and the Terp Tunnel?

The major difference between the terp trap and tunnel is that the trap is completely closed off from the noodle - so whatever your loading in there - the odor of it won’t go down through the that noodle into the crucible  and possibly be a flavor blast. it’s more for storage / twists the cap off to smell what’s inside without adulterating your dabs -
 I have a closed top, and a top with a hole in it. No hole = better preservation when on the go - - - hole w screen= can smell while leaving the thread cap on, I include a screen with open tops so you don’t snort up anything accidentally 

Terp tunnel there’s a screen on the bottom because the passage to the noodle is open, and whatever you load in there, air will pass over it before going down through the crucible - so if carb caps are for directional airflow, all of that air passes over the loaded material first 

So you don’t vaporize anything in the top of either 

 

WHATS THE PURPOSE OF THE TERP TUNNEL?

You could put a whole variety of things in it that could / would

1) enhance the flavor 2) enhance the effect 

Research on terps in regards to consumption through the lens of aromatherapy is confirmed to be on the way 🧐

Major topic of interest to me 2025
(1) the effects we experience through the lens of aromatherapy - what do terps do for us really when inhaling, and what could they do if used properly for the purposes of inhalation

For low temp dabs

There's a difference between putting something in the crucible and it boiling while smoking it vs air just passing over it. The amount of time whatever material you loaded into the chamber ____ makes contact with heated vapor wouldn't - while considering the cooling effect of the inhale gust - degrade in the same way something in the crucible would due to the exposure is has to the direct heat source for x amount of time.

I created this style of joystick cap where you can load- for ex - some chamomile or lavender leaves, orange/lemon peel pieces  into the top chamber - so when inhaling and using as a directional cap - the air that ultimately gets inhaled by you first passes over the  loaded material 🤘🤓 And this is just referencing the air going through the cap as a directional carb cap-> a few days ago I released a new thread top with a hole in the middle so you can actually just inhale whatever material you’ve loaded unadulterated

When you do a dry inhale and can taste the __ that's when you know you’re good to go.

Most terpenes begin to boil off at temps lower than most people set their device to (400F+) - ranging from 250F to 350F for the majority of those terps.

How long do you think those terps come into play during the sesh? Apparently, there are a lot of people that load their crucible, and will sesh on something for a full minute or more — at that point -what terps?

After that first hit, if your doing a cold start - I’m inclined to believe the effects are actually dictated by the other degrading cannabinoids

Think about terps in regard to their relation to aromatherapy, how these smells are processed by our bodies

SAFETY

  • make sure that you do not put things in the terp tunnel  top that could be sucked into the crucible while your inhaling
  • never load non-diluted terpenes / essential oils
  • this could be anything from finely ground spices/herbs - to some form of soaked cotton/ paper that’s so wetted, it could easily drip down into the crucible when inhaling
  • The best way to make sure that you didn’t over-do anything is to Load the top with your desired material, do a few dry rips with the cap  at the normal pressure you’d be inhaling with during use - and make sure nothing is getting through the cap tube into your mouth 

AFTER YOU’VE TESTED THE CAP

When you do those dry rips and can taste the citrus or __ in the air, that’s when you know your good to go 👊😁 (taste doesn’t mean bits of juice or _ is actually getting eaten) 

When you sesh and can still taste that citrus while inhaling - you know the Turps have made it through to you successfully

Keep in mind - terps and Flavanoids are also two different things fam 💯

L.O.C  (lift off cap)

What makes this different than other joystick caps? 

This particular version has a threaded vial top, which can be used to store ___

The others have 2 Maria’s (bumps) on the noodle so that the grommet seats in the crevice between them. when you gyrate the cap, it won’t sling out for that reason, or get pushed down through the grommet into the crucible (lose ability to gyrate) 

Glassblowers put those two notches in - in order to prevent that. The one downside to this style cap is that it makes it necessary to take the entire flux cap grommet off of the crucible to clear your piece. This can interfere with the fluidity of your dabbing( fiddling with the grommet to get the cap back into place), and also causes wear and tear on that silicone sleeve. 

 My cap has just the one maria (bump).  When you adjust the grommet as demonstrated in the attached video, as long as your putting some minimal pressure down on the top of the cap when your gyrating it, no matter how hard you get at it, it wont sling out.

This model is a joystick cap that is meant to be used with @tufftethers flux cap grommet available at tufftethers.com

By pushing in the center of the flux cap as demonstrated in my video (so that bit is poking out) - you can gently twist in my cap, get to work, and whenever you want to clear your piece, just twist the cap up to take it off vs pulling it straight up, and twisting it back on vs pushing down ----This guarantees the flux cap grommet stays exactly the way you first set it after loading your ___

The Carta Max LOC size is compatible with the voozr grommet/chamber -  although you would want to insert the LOC in the same way demonstrated in the first video- when I was using the flux cap grommet 

If cleaning the cap with isopropyl alchohol  - do not soak the cap in the iso- if needed, take a qtip swab and wipe it.
